Lauren Paige: Empathetic and Resilient Game Designer and Producer

About Me:

Hi! My name is Lauren Paige, and I’m a fourth-year game design and production student in the School of Individualized Study with a minor in psychology at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I graduate in May of 2022 and am currently looking for fitting job opportunities. I pride myself on my time management skills, my hard-working attitude, and my positive energy, and if you talk to me just for five minutes, you will understand why I pride myself in these immediately.

Mission:

My objective is to be a full-time game designer or game producer at a game company when I graduate in May. I am hoping to relocate since I have lived in Rochester my entire life but I am open to many locations. I excel in positions that let me use my organizational, analytical, and design skills, and I strive to create a positive environment where I can make the people around me feel empowered and confident. If my qualities sound similar to your company’s values, please hit the button below to connect with me on LinkedIn!

Experience:

I have worked since I was 16 and have had a vast array of jobs, starting out as a busser at a sushi restaurant to becoming a sales leader and influencer for a major brand. During my freshman year at RIT, I worked five different jobs at once to work full-time while balancing being a full-time student, and in my final semester of college, I continue this work-school balance. Working so much has taught me resilience, independence, and the importance of a positive mindset and reframing situations, and has let me develop and cultivate my skills with leadership, time management, conflict management, scheduling, organizing and sorting through data, prioritizing, and adapting.

Currently, I work five different jobs at three different organizations. I am a Teacher’s Assistant (TA) for Prof. Sten McKinzie, a senior lecturer in the Game Design & Development program at RIT, and I TA four of his classes, including 2D Animation, Level Design, and Graduate Level Design. I am the Director of Sports Media and a Board Operator for the Division I men and women’s RIT hockey games for WITR 89.7, our campus radio station. As mentioned above, I am also a Sales Lead and Influencer for American Eagle. By being an influencer, I have also become incredibly interested in marketing, specifically social media marketing, and my skills within the marketing space have expanded greatly within the past nine months. While these jobs are all very different and rewarding in their own unique ways, I am constantly challenged with new situations and obstacles in each of them every day. This continuously lets me grow and learn as both a leader, team player, and person, and I look forward to getting a job that has an environment similar to this where I can flourish and be successful.

I am also currently the first-ever president of Proof of Purchase (PoP) acapella at RIT, and I have been the choreography director for the past three years. Although not paid, I take PoP very seriously and have numerous responsibilities as president, such as scheduling our entire semester, coordinating with the executive board on a daily and weekly basis to keep our group on track, resolving any conflicts, and being the main point of contact for any concerns in our group and between groups. As the choreography director, I coordinate all choreography meetings, brainstorm and execute ideas with our choreography committee, and teach the entire group. My paid job experiences have shaped me as a person, but PoP has similarly shaped me and made me bloom and grow as a leader.

If you’d like to know more about my job experiences, take a look at my resume below.

Hi my name is Will Sterrett, I am a third year marketing major with a minor in statistics at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I am from Reston, Virginia, which is 30 minutes outside Washington D.C. I love all aspects of business so, when I came to college I didn’t know what type of degree I wanted to pursue. I would love to get a marketing analytics job right out of college.

I came to RIT to pursue a high level education, while being able to play the game that I love, lacrosse. Jasmina Rizvanovic, New Media Marketing Student

Hi there! My name is Jasmina Rizvanovic. I am currently a senior in my final semester at Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in New Media Marketing with two minors in Advertising/Public Relations and Digital Business.

Background

To give a little context about me, I came to the US at two months old from Bosnia with my family where we settled here in Rochester, NY. I attended and graduated from School of the Arts High School where I majored in Creative Writing. I decided to continue my education locally at RIT  where I was a recipient of the Rochester City Scholars Scholarship. While at RIT, I am a member of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Multicultural Center for Academic Success so diversity awareness and representation is something I am passionate about.

Experience

During my time at RIT, I have completed three internships within the digital marketing space. My experience is varied from higher education to the food and beverage and restaurant industries. I have had experience with social media management, content creation, analytics, influencer recruitment and brand management. Some of my favorite internships were for Wegmans Food Markets. I completed two internships with the company in Marketing and the other in Media Relations. From these experiences, I gained vast knowledge in content creation (planning, organizing and scheduling content), analyzing metrics and analytics as well as a general better understanding of operating from various departments in an organization.

Future Plans

To say I am excited to enter the workforce is an understatement. My ideal career path would consist of  working for a marketing/advertising agency but I am not opposed to exploring other avenues at this time. I am open to the idea of relocating as well. To learn a little more about me or my experiences feel free to download my resume. I love chatting and networking with new people so  feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn as well!

Chris Foley: International Marketer and Music Lover

My name is Christopher Foley and I’m into languages. Communicating with people from around the world always seemed like the most fascinating thing in the world to me. In terms of true languages, I speak English and Mandarin, but I also partake in the universal language of music. I’ve sung beside the Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall, been a part of multiple music productions, and perform as an opera singer to this day. Music and language bring people together. To me, that’s magical. It’s what I’m passionate about.

To that end, professionally, I’m an international business professional specialized in sales and marketing. I want to be able to do business with people in other countries, bring culture from one part of the world to another, and facilitate the broadening of people’s horizons. I suspect that my beginnings will be doing marketing and sales for a company doing business with China because of my experience living in China and speaking the language.

Angel Keppler – Photo Advertiser and Marketer

Hello! My name is Angel Keppler and I am an undergrad in my 3rd-year studying photo advertising with a minor in marketing here at Rochester Institute of Technology. While at RIT I played lacrosse and was involved in the organization Alpha Xi Delta. I also had the chance to work in Golisano in The School of Information.

I grew up in a small town called Owego, NY where I was VP of the student body and was a 3-time state champ in XC. These taught me leadership and responsibility early on. It proved to me that hard work pays off and set me up with a good mindset for success. My photography started early on and my passion and interest for it in business has only expanded since.

During my time here I have had the opportunity to do research with Eun Sook Kwon on content analysis and have done some freelance work with the knowledge I am gained from RIT. I was also able to spend the last 6 months working for KaeRae Marketing where I was a project coordinator and social media manager. This experience has resulted in me becoming more well rounded in the marketing field and improved my organization due to the fact I had to distribute ideas to another person and translate thoughts and ideas.

I am very passionate about advertising and marketing and what catches a consumer’s eye to persuade them to buy or be interested in certain products. I aspire to work around this field to bring a new perspective to brands and encourage their growth. Check out my LinkedIn and resume below!

Along with my BFA in Film Production, I am pursuing a minor in Marketing. I am originally from the small town of Wrightsville, PA, but I am looking forward to traveling to wherever in the world I am able to lend my services. I am hardworking, passionate, and always eager to learn more about Marketing and Filmmaking.

In the field of Marketing, I plan to specialize in social media and internet marketing, which is what the majority of the RIT courses I’ve taken have been focused on. During my four years at RIT, I was able to maintain over a 3.8 accumulative GPA while also working as the Director of Production at RIT’s SportsZone Live. I’ve worked there for the past 3 years and have been one of the student managers for almost 2 years. I’ve also aided in many student productions at the School of Film and Animation, as well as many films of my own. Several of which received high regard from my peers and professors.
