Sawyer Tehan: Mastering Marketing and Communication at RIT

Hi everyone! I’m Sawyer Tehan and I’m currently working toward my master’s degree in communication (with a focus on marketing) at Rochester Institute of Technology. I graduated from the University of Rochester in 2023 with a bachelor’s in English (language, media, and communication), where I developed a strong passion for storytelling and strategic communication. Wanting to blend creativity with business, I decided to focus more on marketing as the next step in my educational and professional career.

Right now, I’m also gaining hands-on experience as a marketing intern at CSA Consulting Group, a company that helps plan projects and deliver relief programs for areas impacted by natural and manmade disasters. This role has been an amazing opportunity to put what I’ve learned into practice while gaining skills in campaign management and strategic communication planning.

I’m always eager to learn and grow, and I’m excited to keep building my knowledge in marketing, brand management, and strategy : )

Hello everyone! Nice to meet you. My name is Clara Kim, and I am also called Geunhae Kim in South Korea where I am originally from. My undergraduate degree was in Communication with a minor in Marketing at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in Communication at RIT, and this is my last semester.

While I studied Communication as an undergraduate, I became interested in Marketing. The fascinating thing about marketing is I can put my ideas and creativity into brands, products, and events. I like to share new, creative, ingenious, and different ideas and thoughts with people. I am also interested in cosmetics, so I would love to combine my two interests: marketing and cosmetics by working in a cosmetics company in the future.

I am planning on working in the marketing industry after graduation. I have experienced diverse cultures in both Asian and Western cultures, so I am inspired and motivated by the experiences to be creative. I am passionate to pursue creative and meaningful works.
