Will Sterrett: Marketing and Statistics

May be an image of Will Sterrett

Hi my name is Will Sterrett, I am a third year marketing major with a minor in statistics at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I am from Reston, Virginia, which is 30 minutes outside Washington D.C. I love all aspects of business so, when I came to college I didn’t know what type of degree I wanted to pursue. I fell in love with marketing in my first year of college. I also have always had a love for numbers which is why I wanted minor in statistics. I would love to get a marketing analytics job right out of college.

I came to RIT to pursue a high level education, while being able to play the game that I love, lacrosse. Growing up I played so many different types of sports such as hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and football. These sports taught me some very important traits, such as leadership and teamwork. I believe that those two qualities are essential in the work place. Below are my resume and a link to my Linked In Profile. Feel free to click on both and learn more about me.

Jasmina Rizvanovic, New Media Marketing Student

Hi there! My name is Jasmina Rizvanovic. I am currently a senior in my final semester at Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in New Media Marketing with two minors in Advertising/Public Relations and Digital Business.

Background

To give a little context about me, I came to the US at two months old from Bosnia with my family where we settled here in Rochester, NY. I attended and graduated from School of the Arts High School where I majored in Creative Writing. I decided to continue my education locally at RIT  where I was a recipient of the Rochester City Scholars Scholarship. While at RIT, I am a member of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Multicultural Center for Academic Success so diversity awareness and representation is something I am passionate about.

Experience

During my time at RIT, I have completed three internships within the digital marketing space. My experience is varied from higher education to the food and beverage and restaurant industries. I have had experience with social media management, content creation, analytics, influencer recruitment and brand management. Some of my favorite internships were for Wegmans Food Markets. I completed two internships with the company in Marketing and the other in Media Relations. From these experiences, I gained vast knowledge in content creation (planning, organizing and scheduling content), analyzing metrics and analytics as well as a general better understanding of operating from various departments in an organization.

Future Plans

To say I am excited to enter the workforce is an understatement. My ideal career path would consist of  working for a marketing/advertising agency but I am not opposed to exploring other avenues at this time. I am open to the idea of relocating as well. To learn a little more about me or my experiences feel free to download my resume. I love chatting and networking with new people so  feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn as well!

Chelsea Gordon – Determined Marketing Candidate

Hello! My name is Chelsea Gordon and I’m a Rochester resident. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing at RIT, and will graduate in December 2021.

My first collegiate experience was in 2010 at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. I earned an Associate of Arts in fashion design, became a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and graduated magna cum laude. During my studies, I accepted two internships in the Boston area. The first, with independent stylist Christen Mitchell, assisting with developing looks and running photo shoots. The second, working directly with designer David Chum of Selahdor, playing an integral role in the ideation, planning and production of two collections.

Since 2014, I have been a consultant at Susan Deborah Bridal, a high-end bridal boutique in Brighton. I also assist with alterations and manage the social media accounts. In 2018, I managed the rebranding of the store, assisting web designers with content development and organizing the new website. I am proud to have created the boutique’s new logo, displayed on the website, Facebook and Instagram.

Wanting to merge my creative and business passions, I found marketing to be the perfect fit and returned to school.  In May 2020 I graduated from Monroe Community College with an Associate’s degree in the liberal arts program with a focus in business administration, joined Phi Theta Kappa and was honored to receive the Academic Achievement award. I transferred to RIT in August 2020 to complete my Bachelor’s degree.

Upon graduating this December, I aim to work for a Rochester marketing agency, utilizing my marketing analytic skills to be a contributing member to this great city of ours!

I invite you to reach out and connect, my résumé and LinkedIn appear below!
