Welcome! My name is Rachael Bessette, I am a Graduate Student at the Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing my Master’s in Business Administration. My undergraduate degree is in Marketing with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations.

While in my last semester of the program I look forward to graduating and advancing my Marketing career by working in social media marketing or event marketing. Some of my skills that aid in these career options are the ability to be organized, having success in planning, as well as my background in advertising and public relations.

When I’m not in school I thoroughly enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends. I also always make time for physical activity, specifically rowing, which I have been involved in since I was in middle school.

Shannon J. Stevely is excited to complete a Masters in Business Administration in the program at RIT’s Saunders School of Business in fall 2023, following a successful professional journey. She holds a summa cum laude Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from SUNY Brockport and recently earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from RIT, enhancing her process improvement and operational efficiency skills.

During her career, Shannon completed two impactful internships. At Advantech Industries, she managed the Epicor system, handled quotes, and ensured compliance with sensitive documents. Her University of Rochester Medical Center internship involved optimizing workflows, participating in financial meetings, and implementing Lean methodologies.

In her role as Administrative Project Specialist at HARBEC, Shannon led projects, coordinated with stakeholders, and ensured flawless execution. Earlier, as an Administrative Secretary, she managed office supplies and provided crucial support.

Anticipating her MBA journey, Shannon aims to contribute her diverse skills to the business community. Her background in healthcare administration, Lean Six Sigma certification, and extensive internships prepare her for future challenges. She looks forward to furthering her education and career at RIT while networking with peers and professionals.

Hi, my name is Owen Laffey, I am a motivated and resourceful team player with exceptional attention to detail seeking to utilize my communication and leadership skills in a marketing capacity. Over the past four years, I had the privilege of being part of the Men’s Lacrosse team at Nazareth University. This was an amazing experience that gave me countless life lessons while pushing me to learn and grow as an athlete and as a person.

Jen Hill: New Media Marketing Student

Hi there!

My name is Jen Hill and I’m a senior at Rochester Institute of Technology studying New Media Marketing with a minor in Economics.

Experience

During my time at RIT, I have been very involved in campus life, and have held multiple leadership positions in campus clubs and organizations. I currently represent the university’s female students as the Women’s Senator in Student Government. I have also held positions as the President of the Mock Trial team, the Vice President of Marketing for Women in Business, the PR & Social Media Chair for RIT College Democrats, and the Treasurer for the Marketing, Advertising, & Public Relations club. 

I have interest and experience working in nonprofit organizations, specifically museums. During the summer of 2021, I worked at Genesee Country Village & Museum as a marketing assistant intern where I worked closely with the Museum’s Director of Communications to assist with creating and tracking promotion materials. 

Goals

After graduation, I hope to move on to attend law school and eventually work with nonprofit organizations in advocacy or policy creation.

Sam Walker: Digital Media Producer

My name is Sam Walker and I am a Digital Media Producer. I am a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying Advertising Photography. During my free time I immerse myself in and continue to learn more about the different activities and cultures that I photograph and film.

Experience

I am focused on the creation of various forms of still and motion media that promote outdoor recreation as well as the products and services offered by companies in the outdoor industry. My work goes beyond just the photographing and filming of my subjects, as I dip into the different logistical and organizational aspects that go into a production as a producer. Throughout the last few years I have planned and executed multiple productions with crews of all sizes. Most recently, I completed an internship with Douglas Outdoors during which I travelled 14,000 miles to 24 different states across the United States creating photo and video content of Douglas Outdoors fly fishing products and their users. I visited over 30 Douglas Outdoors dealers where both on and off the water I created images for social media and print advertising as well as a few dozen short 3-5 minute videos for social media use.

Max Braimon – New Media Marketer

Hello! My name is Maxwell Braimon. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors of Science Degree in New Media Marketing with an immersion in PR/Advertising. I grew up in a small town called Dobbs Ferry, NY in Westchester County and transferred to RIT in 2020. I hope to work in the gaming industry in the future because I feel that I am most passionate about that industry. 

I currently work part-time at a catering company in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey when I am home for the breaks. Prior to this job, I was working in retail at stores like Under Armor, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Modell’s Sporting Goods so I am familiar with face to face interactions with customers. In my years of retail experience, I have learned how to interact with customers and close sales which will help me in my future career. Throughout this pandemic, I also assisted my mother with her mask making business while she was out of work. During this time, I processed online orders and made postings of custom pre-made masks on various websites.

Hello, my name is Kaylin Connors and I am a third year student at Rochester Institute of Technology located in Rochester, New York. I am studying business administration with a concentration in marketing and management. My expected graduation for my bachelors is May 2023, but I plan to continue on to my MBA through Rochester Institute of Technology. 

My Experience

I currently work for a small business called The Hunting Horn, located in Penfield, New York. I curate TikTok content twice a week for the store’s page, as well as posting and sharing this content. I have also created content for the Instagram page. 

I also own my own business, Kaylin Connors Photography. I went public with my business in 2014, and have grown tremendously over the past couple years. I work directly with clients to create lasting memories through photographs that can be cherished for decades to come. Each session is individualized for every client to make sure they are getting a unique and fun experience. I also take great pride in my marketing for my business and have expanded onto several social media platforms.

My goal is to align with a company who shares similar beliefs as me, excellence and innovation. I take pride in creating an outstanding experience for every customer and continuing their loyalty to a company through different marketing tools. Understanding the audience for a company is extremely important, especially when it comes to conversions, which is something I hope to bring to a company through my marketing skills.

Hi my name is Will Sterrett, I am a third year marketing major with a minor in statistics at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I am from Reston, Virginia, which is 30 minutes outside Washington D.C. I love all aspects of business so, when I came to college I didn’t know what type of degree I wanted to pursue. I fell in love with marketing in my first year of college. I also have always had a love for numbers which is why I wanted minor in statistics. I would love to get a marketing analytics job right out of college.

I came to RIT to pursue a high level education, while being able to play the game that I love, lacrosse. Growing up I played so many different types of sports such as hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and football. These sports taught me some very important traits, such as leadership and teamwork. Ayele Mystic: Marketing and the Culinary Arts

Hello, my name is Ayele Mystic I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago and have spent the majority of my life living in Washington DC. Coming from a family of school teachers and college professors; I understand how crucial it is to ensure academic success is universal and attainable. As a current 3rd year student at Saunders College of Business at RIT, I have been diligently studying effective business practices and majoring specifically in New Media Marketing. I am 1 semester away from graduating RIT with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and have successfully started my own business following my passion for the culinary arts. Jasmina Rizvanovic, New Media Marketing Student

Hi there! My name is Jasmina Rizvanovic. I am currently a senior in my final semester at Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in New Media Marketing with two minors in Advertising/Public Relations and Digital Business. 

Background

To give a little context about me, I came to the US at two months old from Bosnia with my family where we settled here in Rochester, NY. I attended and graduated from School of the Arts High School where I majored in Creative Writing. I decided to continue my education locally at RIT  where I was a recipient of the Rochester City Scholars Scholarship. While at RIT, I am a member of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Multicultural Center for Academic Success so diversity awareness and representation is something I am passionate about. 

Experience

During my time at RIT, I have completed three internships within the digital marketing space. My experience is varied from higher education to the food and beverage and restaurant industries. I have had experience with social media management, content creation, analytics, influencer recruitment and brand management. Some of my favorite internships were for Wegmans Food Markets. I completed two internships with the company in Marketing and the other in Media Relations. From these experiences, I gained vast knowledge in content creation (planning, organizing and scheduling content), analyzing metrics and analytics as well as a general better understanding of operating from various departments in an organization. 

Future Plans

To say I am excited to enter the workforce is an understatement. My ideal career path would consist of  working for a marketing/advertising agency but I am not opposed to exploring other avenues at this time. I am open to the idea of relocating as well.
