Chris Foley: International Marketer and Music Lover

My name is Christopher Foley and I’m into languages. Communicating with people from around the world always seemed like the most fascinating thing in the world to me. In terms of true languages, I speak English and Mandarin, but I also partake in the universal language of music. I’ve sung beside the Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall, been a part of multiple music productions, and perform as an opera singer to this day. Music and language bring people together. To me, that’s magical. It’s what I’m passionate about.

To that end, professionally, I’m an international business professional specialized in sales and marketing. I want to be able to do business with people in other countries, bring culture from one part of the world to another, and facilitate the broadening of people’s horizons. I suspect that my beginnings will be doing marketing and sales for a company doing business with China because of my experience living in China and speaking the language.

Jordan Fureman, Filmmaker and Marketer

Hello! My name is Jordan Fureman. I am a fourth-year Film Production student at the Rochester Institute of Technology expected to graduate in May of 2021. Along with my BFA in Film Production, I am pursuing a minor in Marketing. I am originally from the small town of Wrightsville, PA, but I am looking forward to traveling to wherever in the world I am able to lend my services. I am hardworking, passionate, and always eager to learn more about Marketing and Filmmaking.

In the field of Marketing, I plan to specialize in social media and internet marketing, which is what the majority of the RIT courses I’ve taken have been focused on. I’ve been in charge of internet marketing for Franklin-Stevens Jewelers for some time, building a functional E-Commerce website that has boosted watch sales, and several social media accounts that have collectively accumulated nearly one thousand followers, allowing the store to have a direct line of interaction with the customer base. I have also directed, shot, and edited a short promotional video for RIT’s Expressive Communication Center, which they have been using to market their services to the RIT community.

During my four years at RIT, I was able to maintain over a 3.8 accumulative GPA while also working as the Director of Production at RIT’s SportsZone Live. I’ve worked there for the past 3 years and have been one of the student managers for almost 2 years. I’ve also aided in many student productions at the School of Film and Animation, as well as many films of my own. Several of which received high regard from my peers and professors.

Meet Alexander Rohring, New Media Marketing Student

Hi there–nice to meet you! I’m Xander, a 20-year-old studying New Media Marketing at Rochester Institute of Technology, originally from Victor, NY. I’m a hard-working, problem-solving student with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations, returning to RIT in the fall to complete a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in project management.

My areas of interest include content marketing strategy & generation, social media marketing, copywriting, advertising strategy, and search engine optimization. I have experience working on these types of projects at my work on campus as the social media manager for the RIT Honors Program and at my co-op this past summer working on marketing for Poseidon Systems, a local engineering firm. These have both been rewarding experiences that have helped me develop my skills as a marketer and young professional.

At RIT, I have been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an internationally recognized honors society for AACSB accredited business schools. Additionally, this year I was honored to receive the Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar award that celebrates the top 1% of undergraduate students at RIT who are able to maintain a high standard of academic excellence while also giving back to their community through civic or volunteer work, conducting research, or being engaged in a co-op or work in their field of study.

Kasey Mathews – MBA Candidate

Who I Am

Kasey Mathews is an MBA student at RIT’s Saunders College of Business. With concentrations in both Marketing and Public Policy, he is dedicated to ensuring clear and concise communication.

Kasey is passionate about the work he does, and stresses the importance of collaboration, especially across various disciplines. Through both his undergraduate and graduate studies at RIT, he has been heavily involved in multiple projects and organizations in every part of the university experience.

What I Do

Through Reporter — RIT’s only fully student-run magazine — Kasey has consistently published journalistic content with real impact to the RIT community, whether they be students, faculty, staff or alumni. He has risen to become the Editor in Chief of the organization, managing a 100-person staff and a budget in excess of $150,000.

Kasey also joined the RIT Orientation program in Fall 2016, welcoming new students to RIT every year. In Fall 2020, Kasey took on a leadership role within the program, coordinating the schedule and managing all hiring, training and other personnel management responsibilities. Along with a team of five other coordinators, he achieved a smooth transition for new students into their new lives at RIT, ensuring comfort, support and education despite operating within the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a brother of Delta Sigma Pi — one of the largest, co-ed professional business fraternities in the nation — Kasey has gained valuable leadership skills while continually giving back to the student business community and the greater Rochester community nearby.

Kasey has also been involved in other capacities. He holds a Graduate Assistantship in the university’s LGBT Center, has served as a peer mentor within Saunders College for three years, was awarded entry into the Saunders Graduate Fellowship that connected him with industry mentors in Toshiba and 2logical as well as working with the Study Abroad Office to promote the accessibility and developmental experiences of study abroad.

With passions for cross-cultural communication and marketing policy, Kasey is ready to take on any project that deals heavily in communications, from Government Relations to Social Media Advertising.
