Maryn Gochuico: New Media Marketing Student

Hello!

My name is Maryn Gochuico and I am in my final semester of my New Media Marketing B.S. at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. I’m originally from Princeton Junction, NJ where I grew up playing soccer and running track.

If I’m not working on class assignments, you can find me running, lifting weights, or playing soccer. I enjoy observing the tangible ways in which I improve in my strength and speed, and hope to one day run a marathon!

My RIT Experience

Besides the numerous times I have had to wipe snow off of my car, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at RIT. I can largely attribute my enjoyable experience to the variety of clubs I have been a part of on campus. I am the President of Women’s Club Soccer, a member of Delta Sigma Pi, and a member of Women in Business. Many of my close friendships were made after joining these organizations.

I have also completed an IT Business Analyst co-op with Wegmans Food Markets and an Operations internship with Santander Consumer USA.

Post Graduation Plans

I am eagerly awaiting graduation so I can begin my career with Oracle NetSuite as a Business Development Representative in Austin, TX!

Ariel Roberts: New Media Marketing Student

My name is Ariel Roberts and I’m a third-year student at Rochester Institute of Technology. I am people-oriented, ambitious, optimistic, hardworking, and always willing to learn.  Passionate about the intersection of business and the (very saturated) digital world, I’m obsessed with quality and thinking outside of the box.

At RIT I’ve been able to hone my skills including communication, leadership, creative writing, discipline, and more. I have experience in B2B marketing and higher education marketing through various jobs and internships (click “My Experience” to download my resume).

Outside of classes and work, I’m very involved on campus during my free time. I found a true passion in making RIT a better place by facilitating discussions and planning fun events for students of color. In addition to previous executive roles I’ve held, this year I am continuing my passion as the Co-Marketing Director of the ALANA Collegiate Association which represents all students of color on campus.

Another passion of mine is my blog, Ariel’s View. I talk about everything related to mental health and personal growth.

I’m currently looking for a full-time internship for summer 2022. Please feel free to contact me!

Sam Walker: Digital Media Producer

My name is Sam Walker and I am a Digital Media Producer. I am a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying Advertising Photography. During my free time I immerse myself in and continue to learn more about the different activities and cultures that I photograph and film.

Experience

I am focused on the creation of various forms of still and motion media that promote outdoor recreation as well as the products and services offered by companies in the outdoor industry. My work goes beyond just the photographing and filming of my subjects, as I dip into the different logistical and organizational aspects that go into a production as a producer. Throughout the last few years I have planned and executed multiple productions with crews of all sizes. Most recently, I completed an internship with Douglas Outdoors during which I travelled 14,000 miles to 24 different states across the United States creating photo and video content of Douglas Outdoors fly fishing products and their users. I visited over 30 Douglas Outdoors dealers where both on and off the water I created images for social media and print advertising as well as a few dozen short 3-5 minute videos for social media use.

Max Braimon – New Media Marketer

I hope to work in the gaming industry in the future because I feel that I am most passionate about that industry.

I currently work part-time at a catering company in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey when I am home for the breaks. EJ Martino – Software Engineer

My name is EJ Martino and I’m a fifth year Software Engineering major at the Rochester Institute of Technology.  I have loved my major coursework, but I didn’t want to limit myself to only technical endeavors in my academic career.  I decided to explore a few interests I discovered during my college years and followed those interests to completing minors in Digital Business as well as American Sign Language and Deaf Cultural Studies.

My Co-Operative Education positions have been the most insightful aspects of my professional development to this point.  I have worked a total of 20 months between Saab Sensis Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation in the Greater Syracuse area, and am incredibly excited to be returning to Lockheed Martin upon graduation.  In addition to job specific technical know-how, the most valuable lesson I have been able to take away from these experiences was that the most successful people are the most flexible.  That is why I intend to ensure that I have as much professional experience as possible in any engineering discipline I can get involved in.

After graduation, I will pursue personal projects to foster my development and account for the gap in new experiences that will arise in moving from being a full-time student to being a full-time employee.  I will use these skills to grow as a software engineer in my employment, and be open to all opportunities for advancement in my career.

Lauren Paige: Empathetic and Resilient Game Designer and Producer

About Me:

Hi! My name is Lauren Paige, and I’m a fourth-year game design and production student in the School of Individualized Study with a minor in psychology at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I graduate in May of 2022 and am currently looking for fitting job opportunities. I pride myself on my time management skills, my hard-working attitude, and my positive energy, and if you talk to me just for five minutes, you will understand why I pride myself in these immediately.

Mission:

My objective is to be a full-time game designer or game producer at a game company when I graduate in May. I am hoping to relocate since I have lived in Rochester my entire life but I am open to many locations. I excel in positions that let me use my organizational, analytical, and design skills, and I strive to create a positive environment where I can make the people around me feel empowered and confident. If my qualities sound similar to your company’s values, please hit the button below to connect with me on LinkedIn!

Experience:

I have worked since I was 16 and have had a vast array of jobs, starting out as a busser at a sushi restaurant to becoming a sales leader and influencer for a major brand. During my freshman year at RIT, I worked five different jobs at once to work full-time while balancing being a full-time student, and in my final semester of college, I continue this work-school balance. Working so much has taught me resilience, independence, and the importance of a positive mindset and reframing situations, and has let me develop and cultivate my skills with leadership, time management, conflict management, scheduling, organizing and sorting through data, prioritizing, and adapting.

Currently, I work five different jobs at three different organizations. I am a Teacher’s Assistant (TA) for Prof. Sten McKinzie, a senior lecturer in the Game Design & Development program at RIT, and I TA four of his classes, including 2D Animation, Level Design, and Graduate Level Design. I am the Director of Sports Media and a Board Operator for the Division I men and women’s RIT hockey games for WITR 89.7, our campus radio station. As mentioned above, I am also a Sales Lead and Influencer for American Eagle. By being an influencer, I have also become incredibly interested in marketing, specifically social media marketing, and my skills within the marketing space have expanded greatly within the past nine months. While these jobs are all very different and rewarding in their own unique ways, I am constantly challenged with new situations and obstacles in each of them every day. This continuously lets me grow and learn as both a leader, team player, and person, and I look forward to getting a job that has an environment similar to this where I can flourish and be successful.

I am also currently the first-ever president of Proof of Purchase (PoP) acapella at RIT, and I have been the choreography director for the past three years. Although not paid, I take PoP very seriously and have numerous responsibilities as president, such as scheduling our entire semester, coordinating with the executive board on a daily and weekly basis to keep our group on track, resolving any conflicts, and being the main point of contact for any concerns in our group and between groups. As the choreography director, I coordinate all choreography meetings, brainstorm and execute ideas with our choreography committee, and teach the entire group. My paid job experiences have shaped me as a person, but PoP has similarly shaped me and made me bloom and grow as a leader.

If you’d like to know more about my job experiences, take a look at my resume below.
